Most circulated books of 2025

It’s time for our annual most popular books of the year lists. We’re looking at what’s been going on with libraries. We’ve identified the top-circulating titles in the Fiction, Non-Fiction, and Juvenile & Young Adult categories.

The following lists are based on circulation data in Canada from December 30, 2024 to December 28, 2025, according to LibraryData, BookNet’s national sales tracking service for the Canadian English-language trade book market.

A quick note about the lists: LibraryData uses ISBN clusters to track circulation, holds, etc. in the system. This differs from SalesData, which reports data at a per-ISBN level. We do this because of how libraries report their collection data to us — their data is broken out by their Catalog ID or record. Each record can contain multiple ISBNs, often all of the editions of a single work. When you use the library, you put a hold on a copy of Pride and Prejudice, for example, and you usually don't mind which particular edition or ISBN you receive — just that you get the first available copy! Some clusters may contain ISBNs for different but related works. For example, occasionally all of the titles in a series or set may be clustered as a single work.

9. Here One Moment by Liane Moriarty

10. Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus

The Four Winds by Kristin Hannah has remained on the list for the past three years, moving up to this year’s top spot. Hannah’s The Women was also a top circulated novel in 2024 as was Happy Place by Emily Henry and Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus.

3. The Anxious Generation by Jonathan Haidt

4. Atomic Habits by James Clear

7. I'm Glad My Mom Died by Jennette McCurdy

8. Values by Mark Carney 🍁

9. Outlive by Peter Attia 🍁 and Bill Gifford

10. The Myth of Normal by Gabor Maté and Daniel Maté 🍁

As was the case last year, 60% of titles appeared on the previous year’s list.

Top 10 most circulated Juvenile and Young Adult books of 2025

3. Diary of a Wimpy Kid series by Jeff Kinney

4. Big Nate series by Lincoln Peirce

5. Baby-Sitters Little Sister graphic novel series by Ann M. Martin

7. Wings of Fire series by Tui T. Sutherland

8. Cat Kid Comic Club series by Dav Pilkey

Again, as was the case last year, this list is very similar to last year’s list. The strength of these series' clusters make them hard to best.
