Tech Forum provides educational opportunities for the publishing industry that focus on technology, data-driven approaches, and collaboration in the book industry. Through our free monthly webinars, we try to cover everything that is top of mind for people working in the book industry.
On that note, our team is seeking book industry professionals who are actively experimenting with AI tools in thoughtful and ethical ways to participate in upcoming webinars.
This programming will feature case-study-style presentations that focus on real-world applications of AI, with an emphasis on collaboration, shared learning, and responsible implementation. We're particularly interested in projects that go beyond theory to explore how these tools are being used, evaluated, and integrated into existing workflows.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
Accessibility
Digital and print production
Discovery and metadata creation and distribution
We're interested in presentations that address:
Why a particular tool or approach was chosen
How risks such as bias, data privacy, and accuracy were considered
What worked, what didn't, and lessons learned
How humans remain involved in the process
If this sounds like something that you’re involved with, we’d love to hear about it.
This programming is not intended for product demos or sales pitches. Submissions should focus on learning, transparency, and practical insight that can benefit the broader industry. We welcome submissions from Canadian and international book supply chain participants, including publishers, service providers, and libraries. We provide an honorarium for speakers.
