You thought you’d have to figure out this ONIX 3.0 stuff all by yourself? Have no fear, your BookNet friends are here!
BookNet Canada has set a target deadline of August 28, 2020 for all Canadian data providers to be able to send a full ONIX 3.0 feed. Get your calendars ready because to help the industry accomplish this goal, BookNet Canada will host informal “office hours” twice each month over the summer, starting on May 11 running until August 24. We will discuss issues related to the transition from ONIX 2.1 to ONIX 3.0, identify compelling resources, and tackle your burning questions. Grab a coffee or #QuaranTea and settle into an hour of deep ONIX nerdery, led by BookNet Canada’s supreme bibliographic leader, Tom Richardson.
Register for the sessions here. And come prepared to learn, chat, and meet your peers as we tackle 2020’s biggest metadata challenge.
Ready to dive into ONIX 3.0 before the meeting? A list of essential resources is available here.
Need a little more guidance to work on your company’s transition to ONIX 3.0? We’ve released a checklist for Canadian data providers to help you every step of the way. Whether you're creating an ONIX 3.0 file for the first time or using one you already have, the list provides a basic outline to work your bibliographic data into an ONIX 3.0 feed worthy of your most demanding trading partners.
