Books For Everybody (BFE) publishes twice-a-year lists of highly recommended titles from independent booksellers. Each spring and fall, BFE offers up a selection of upcoming titles so indie retailers can review, place advance orders, and prepare in-store promotions and sales strategies.

May 2 was the inaugural Authors for Indies Day in Canada. It was a great weekend to be in a bookstore: shops were bustling with patrons and staffers, and in indie shops, authors were reading their books, signing copies for purchase, and handselling their favourite titles.
It was a day truly unlike any other, and one that won’t be soon forgotten. To help keep the spirit alive year-round, here are five (fun and easy!) things you can do.
Canadian book buyers across the country have a lot in common. We buy more print books than ebooks, we almost always pay full price, and we’re most likely to discover our books online, though we prefer to buy them in-store.

In a joint initiative with the Retail Council of Canada (RCC), we’re excited to announce the launch of the Indie Bestsellers List, which will track the best-selling books sold at independent retailers across Canada. The list will hopefully shine a light on the important role indie booksellers play in the Canadian market.
