Small Publishers Get Big Technology

Perseus Books Group has brokered a deal with leading tech companies to provide digital book technology to small publishers at reasonable rates. As per the NY Times:

“The new service, called Constellation, will allow independent publishers to make use of electronic readers, digital book search, print-on-demand and other digital formats at rates negotiated by Perseus on their behalf. Seen as a natural extension of book distribution, providers like Google, Sony, Amazon, Lightning Source and Barnes and Noble have agreed to be a part of this venture.
