I was talking with a couple of sage advisors from the world of publishing a few weeks ago. We discussed publisher websites. Most specifically, we discussed the wave of reinvestment that is just getting started as publishers start to renovate those sites that they constructed in 1999, 2000, 2001.
My sincere hope is that beyond a fresh coat of paint, publishers will look closely at who is using their sites and what needs they’re filling. On this point, a little site analysis goes a long way. Fortunately, the good folks at Mashable have been thinking about this too. They summarized all of the different site analysis tools that you can use to gain insight into usage patterns on your beloved website.
