Introducing BNC's BiblioShare Webform

In keeping with the launch-happy theme we’ve got going around here these days, we have another exciting product to send your way! This one will be of special interest to those in the data trenches who do a lot of heavy lifting to get their data out into the market. BookNet Canada has launched BiblioShare Webform, an easy-to-use web tool that allows small operations to create and manage book metadata, without messing around with complex ONIX files.

Who is it for?

BiblioShare Webform is for anyone who wants to provide robust metadata to their retailers and to BiblioShare but doesn’t have the resources to create complex ONIX files from scratch or to purchase large ONIX solutions. This group includes self-published authors and non-traditional publishers.

What can it do?

Some real time-saving, frustration-slaying stuff:

If you’ve had contact with our Biblio Guinan, Tom Richardson, then chances are you’ve been walkedthrough the in’s and out’s of creating a schema-valid ONIX file for your metadata. The BiblioShare Webform distills the different steps needed to do this into a simple, two-screen workflow. Bonus: it’s entirely cloud-based – no downloads or installation required.

What does it look like?

Screen 1

Review your list of titles, import ONIX records, export to ONIX or BiblioShare, and easily see which still need to pass schema validation.

Screen 2

Enter your metadata.

That’s it!

Do you need access to BiblioShare to use the Webform?

Nope. You don’t have to have BiblioShare access to use the Webform but you might want to! BiblioShare is a free service that makes the ONIX records uploaded by you available to other data aggregators, including retailers, websites like 49thShelf.com, and other BNC products like CataList. BiblioShare can help make your books easier to find, market and sell in Canada.

Read more about BiblioShare here and in our Quick Start Guide and contact us if you’d like to sign up.

Do you already have access to BiblioShare?

Awesome! If you have access, you’ll be able to pull your titles from BiblioShare and edit them in the Webform. You’ll also be able to export all the titles you create and edit in the Webform to BiblioShare in one quick step. Win-win.

Pricing

Pricing is based on the number of title records (ISBNs) your organization creates or maintains using the Webform. The fees listed are annual fees.
